NISHIKAWA JAPAN is a teaware brand of T. NISHIKAWA & CO., INC., a ceramics dealer based in Gojōzaka, Kyoto, Japan. Under the concept of "a new Japanese interior," we combine Japanese tea utensils with modern forms to offer new teaware products to people around the world. Using the knowledge and experience cultivated since our founding in 1917, we select excellent products from traditional crafts and industries throughout Japan to create teaware that carries the essence of Japan.
The name of the teaware brand, "NISHIKAWA JAPAN," is derived from an engraving on tea utensils that were exported to Europe and the United States when T. NISHIKAWA & CO., INC. was first established. Whenever we receive inquiries from overseas about products with this engraving, we are deeply moved by the fact that the products created by the first owner of the store, Teisaburō Nishikawa, are still loved across borders and centuries. With this in mind, we have decided to revive the name as a new brand name.
